Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Field Sales Representative is responsible for maximizing volume and share and to enhance the company’s position for future growth through sales to retail stores in the province. Critical to the success of the role is the management and development of relationships with the retailers responsible for Cannabis distribution to ensure corporate objectives are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of retail/sales experience, cannabis retail experience preferred;
  • University - Commerce, Business or Marketing or Natural Sciences;
  • Valid drivers license required;
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with stakeholders;
  • Able to effectively communicate key information to all audiences;
  • Skilled at assessing client needs and delivering solutions;
  • Knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques;
  • Excellent speaking skills, including presentation experience;
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills;
  • Ability to coordinate, organize and present product demonstrations and other events;
  • High level of proficiency with software packages;
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territory of Vancouver Island, mainly Victoria and Nanaimo

Responsibilities
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with Cannabis retail teams - budtenders, store managers and inventory managers;
  • Achieve sales, distribution and market share objectives;
  • Build presentations and use effective selling techniques to introduce products, features and benefits and educate store staff;
  • Utilize CRM software to keep accurate records for contact management and use best practices for route planning, call frequency and tracking performance against objective;
  • Negotiate and activate merchandising programs for retail partners;
  • Keep accurate records on the account, the decision makers and key relationships;
  • Train and educate the retailer staff personnel;
  • Make field calls and tracking activities in each account;
  • Prepare and submit weekly reporting to management summarizing results against objectives;
  • Gather, analyze and validate data;
  • Track and report on inventory (own and competitive);
  • Monitor and track performance to objectives;
  • Analyze sales activities, market conditions and competitive pricing;
  • Make decisions and formulate sales strategies to improve company position;
  • Manage promotional expenses for the territory;
  • Work with the Regional Sales Manager to ensure best practices are utilized and all engagement activities are within company and provincial guidelines;
  • Other duties as may be required.
