Job Description
SGS is looking for a dedicated Field Sampling Technician to join our team. This role involves conducting field sampling and monitoring tasks, as well as ensuring the efficient unpacking, sorting, and logging of all incoming samples at the Notting Hill Laboratory into our information management system promptly.
Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
- Plan, coordinate, schedule and perform field sampling and field-testing in conjunction with Field Sampling Supervisor
- Ensure field sampling equipment is always maintained to ensure safe operation
- Ensure consistent methodologies and safety protocols as in place for the services
- Conduct sample reception duties as required and ensure samples are taken correctly in accordance with client requirements and NATA guidelines
- Organise dispatch of sample containers/kits to customers as required
- Unpack and sort samples in a timely manner
- Ensure samples are identified, labelled, and stored correctly
- Register samples using the laboratory information management system
- Ensure all samples are free of contamination during sampling and sub-sampling process
- Perform sample disposal
- Perform other duties as directed by the management team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate tertiary qualification
- Experience in reception, preferably in a laboratory environment
- Experience with register logs and data and records management
- Experience in field work
- Full drivers’ licence
- Able to perform manual handling
