Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Field Service Representative for a high-tech growth business serving the Chemical Analysis markets, your primary responsibilities will include installs, familiarization, repairs, IQ/OQ for ICP-MS, ICP-QQQ, ICP-OES, MP-AES, AA, FT-IR and UV-VIS spectroscopy products for customers in Québec, Ontario, the Maritimes and occasionally the rest of Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • On-site installation
  • Customer training
  • Repair and troubleshooting of hardware
  • Routine preventative maintenance, qualifications and verification services
  • Providing customers with high quality services
  • Adherence to environmental health and safety guidelines
  • Sites preparation prior any installation
  • Managing parts
  • Training
  • Providing feedback to manufacturing divisions
  • Working with sales forces
  • Maintaining up to date technical knowledge for assigned products

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Degree in Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.)
  • Strong logical troubleshooting skills
  • 4+ years’ experience with spectroscopy instrumentation such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, MP-AES, AA, FT-IR and UV-VIS is required.
  • Demonstrated ability and prior experience in performing hands on maintenance, installations and selected repairs on analytical instruments is desirable.
  • Environmental, geological and metallurgical analysis application knowledge highly desirable.
  • Strong customer relationship skills are needed.
  • Must be available for up to 40% travel that may include over-night stays in remote location.
  • Must comply with Federal/Provincial government security clearance checks request when necessary for on-site work in government facilities.
  • Must comply with site access requirements that may include but not limited to medical information, drug testing or background checks.
  • Strong communication skills in English and French are mandatory.
