Tasks

  • This is an exciting full-time position based in Melbourne for a motivated individual who is looking for a challenging and rewarding career. As part of the Customer Service team, you will provide inspection, maintenance, repair, retrofit and commissioning services for customer equipment throughout Victoria, as well as interstate and throughout the Oceania region. In addition, you will identify opportunities for new Bühler solutions, recurring service visits via service agreements, and reinforce Bühler’s quality customer experience. The role requires regular and extensive travel; approx. 80-90% of the role. Key responsibilities include:
  • Undertake scheduled and unscheduled field service work, as well as occasional out of hours attendance for customer breakdowns
  • Consult and troubleshoot with customers regarding mechanical equipment issues, repair and configuration
  • Install complex retrofits
  • Generation of work reports
  • Support the Engineering, Sales and Parts teams in technical matters
  • Identify, refer and follow up on Parts, Retrofits and Upgrades opportunities.

Required qualifications

  • You have:
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar field service/installations engineering role, within an industrial equipment setting (food or grain processing preferred)
  • A suitable technical qualification in mechanical engineering
  • Experience and working knowledge of automated equipment, electrical controllers and automation systems
  • The ability to manage multiple jobs and competing priorities
  • The ability and willingness to travel extensively and work autonomously.
  • You will also have:
  • A confident and professional disposition, with a focus on exceptional customer service
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with outstanding time management and root cause analysis skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and administrative skills (excellent MS Office, SAP and CRM skills desirable)
  • A valid Australian driver’s licence
  • A positive, ‘hands-on’, ‘can-do’ attitude and a sense of humour!
