Description

A leading international engineering organisation is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join its team based in Omagh. This hands-on role is pivotal in delivering high-quality service and support to customers both on-site and in the workshop.
The successful candidate will be responsible for routine maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, commissioning, and training across a range of heavy machinery and equipment. This includes both the company’s proprietary product lines and other industry equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven hands-on experience 2+ years in equipment diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
  • Educational background in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering is advantageous.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with diagnostic and service tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays and weekend work as required.
  • Valid clean driving licence and up-to-date passport are essential.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-quality production and service environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate service requirements, preparing necessary parts, tools, and materials for repair, maintenance, and servicing activities.
  • Maintain open communication with customers and dealers, providing updates on service progress.
  • Diagnose equipment faults using diagnostic tools and identify necessary repairs or component replacements.
  • Perform mechanical adjustments and repairs using hand and power tools.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, inspection, and lubrication.
  • Fit and calibrate components, incorporating design upgrades or retrofit modifications as required.
  • Install and commission new equipment at customer sites.
  • Deliver both in-house and on-site service and support.
  • Ensure accurate recording of time, labour, and parts used for internal and external service jobs.
  • Confirm machine performance meets quality standards post-repair or commissioning.
  • Support warranty investigations and provide feedback to improve product design and performance.
  • Uphold high health & safety standards, following all relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers and internal teams via email, phone, or in-person.
  • Assist with R&D and quality initiatives, contributing to product improvement and fault analysis.
  • Liaise with engineering and design teams regarding technical concerns and improvement opportunities.
