Are you a skilled mechanic or engineer looking for a role that offers variety, independence, and career progression? We’re hiring Field Service Engineers to service and maintain municipal, plant, industrial & specialist vehicles such as sweepers, Tankers, Grabs, RCV’s, Tippers and forklifts.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a hands-on technician with a problem-solving mindset. If you love working independently and thrive in a dynamic, on-the-go role, this is for you!

  • Level 2 mechanical or engineering qualification (or equivalent)
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
  • Strong experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Confident diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and electrical faults
  • Competent in the use of diagnostic equipment
  • Class 2 HGV licence desirable but not essential
  • Great communicator and able to prioritise workload

Responsibilities

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Every day, communities and businesses rely on essential equipment to keep things running smoothly. As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be out in the field, making sure our environmental, municipal, civil, and utilities assets stay in top condition. From urgent breakdowns to scheduled maintenance, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our clients operational.

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain DGEMC-owned assets, including specialist utilities equipment (Road Sweepers, Tankers, Grabs, RCV’s, Tippers & Specialist Vehicles/Equipment)
  • Respond swiftly to service calls, ensuring downtime is minimised
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
  • Maintain accurate electronic work records via PDA
  • Carry out PMI inspections and complete reports
  • Manage your own time and stock levels efficiently
