Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.
  • Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
  • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.


Qualifications for the role

  • Electrical Engineer Degree
  • Electrical License preferred
  • Minimum 2-4 years industry experience preferably with Switchgear
  • Experience in relays and protection
  • Skills – Computer literate being familiar with Microsoft and Windows
  • Ability to amicably negotiate and provide good customer service

Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to provide expert support and leadership in the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the FLANDERS Autonomous Drill System (ADS) across multiple operational sites. The role is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient ADS performance, driving best practices, coaching and developing personnel, and delivering afterhours support to meet 24/7 operational demands. Additionally, the position plays a critical part in fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders while adhering to FLANDERS' values and operational standards.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the drill controllers across operational sites for Flanders
  • Liaise with site operational key stakeholders to ensure a safe and efficient operation of the Flanders Autonomous Drill System (ADS)
  • Drive performance of the FLANDERS ADS
  • Participate in delivering After-Hours Breakdown Support for 24/7 coverage, as directed
  • Align ADS standards and best practices across numerous operational sites
  • Liaise closely with the Autonomous Drill System specialists for improvements and assist to implement them in a timely manner
  • Attend ASR meetings and coach best practice at allocated site for customer service and best results
  • Coach and develop employees in the operation of the FLANDERS ARDVARC System
  • Conduct trials and improvements through controlled processes
  • Maintain registers for software changes, overrides and bridges
  • Maintain the software backups and manage all changes
  • Ensure all drills and command centers have the latest software updates as soon as practicably possible
  • Ensure the obsolescence schedule is adhered to and updated as required
  • Review and update maintenance tasks, system checks, and statutory tests as required
  • Always maintain strong company image and positive working relationships including professional behavior with customers, vendors, and co-workers

About you:

  • AUS/NZ Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Electrician, Plant Mechanic or similar
  • Experience in maintaining, servicing and repairing of mobile equipment in a mining or heavy industry environment.
  • Experienced in diagnosis and fault finding in the mechanical assessment of machinery for repair, maintenance and service in the field.
  • Demonstrated skills in understanding customer support requirements.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions
  • Team player who will adhere to and promote the Company's Values & Behaviours
  • Current drivers licence
  • Whilst not required applicants with OEM experience are highly desired
