THE POSITION:

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning new installations, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, inspections and providing training.
You will report to a manager and work closely with various departments. In this position, you will travel both nationally and internationally. We are looking for someone who lives in northern France (towards the Belgian border) - West Flanders - Zealand (towards the Belgian border).

TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS A FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER, YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field (Electromechanics, Electronics or similar) or equivalent through experience
  • Valid B driving license
  • Experience and the ability to travel extensively, up to 70%, including overnight stays when necessary and some weekends away from home. Occasional international travel may be required
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic components
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information, including reading electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings
  • General PC knowledge, both of hardware and software and network communications
  • Experience with variable frequency drive (VFD) parameter configuration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and other Office software applications
  • Analytical ability to solve problems
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and English
  • You are self-motivated, professional, energetic, positive and disciplined to perform under work pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting on-site service visits to customers for installation, commissioning, emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, audits, retrofits and training
  • Mechanical and electrical work
  • Perform remote audits
  • First-time-fix and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Communicate and report effectively to resolve customer issues efficiently
  • Provide technical support to customers via phone and email, including technical support outside office hours and on weekends according to a fixed schedule
  • Document all service activities in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participate in cross-training and cross-functional teams with other Duravant companies
  • Comply with industry, company and customer safe working practices.
