Priorclave is looking for a Trainee Field Service Engineer to join their team, visiting our wide range of customer sites to service and maintain their autoclaves. We are looking for an active, motivated individual based in Reading or the Southwest of England sometimes expanding into other areas as required.
Priorclave is an autoclave manufacturer based in Thamesmead, London with 35 years’ experience in the industry. We design and build in house specialised equipment that is sold globally. We pride ourselves on the quality of our products and the customer service our field service engineers provide when servicing and calibrating autoclaves. We place a strong emphasis on client care and service quality and are UKAS-accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard to provide temperature and time calibration / performance qualification services for laboratory autoclaves around the UK.
The role is home based and requires travelling to customer sites with occasional overnight stay to other areas as necessary.

CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Willingness to learn is essential for this role as the machinery is bespoke and inhouse training will be key to becoming a successful team member.
  • Keen attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to conduct an active job role where manoeuvring around machines and lifting will be required.
  • Ability to commute to and work in busy locations such as laboratories, universities, etc. on a regular basis.
  • Reliability and flexibility are key for this job role due to the ‘on the road’ customer-based position.
  • Ability to use Microsoft programs such as word, excel and outlook.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Previous experience within the field service industry would be preferable but not essential
  • Experience working with mechanical / electrical engineering would be preferable but not essential
  • Experience working in an ‘on the road’ engineering role would be ideal but not essential

Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for day-to-day site visits to customers which will be booked by the Priorclave onsite service co-ordinators. During visits to site, you will be conducting a range of tasks as shown below. In-house training will be provided for all tasks.
- Servicing a variety of autoclaves which will vary in size and requirements.
- Installing various styles and sizes of autoclave.
- Maintaining customers autoclaves including changing parts and providing descaling services.
- Carrying out Calibrations of customer autoclaves following our specific UKAS procedures and customer requirements.
- Provide customer training on the use of the autoclaves and advice where required.
- There is opportunity to develop the role in the future by receiving inhouse training for performance qualification which will give more in-depth analysis of the customers machine performance.
Additional duties include:
- Completing job sheets for customers and inputting these into the ERP system.
- Liaising with the office, including working alongside in office technical department.
