Job Overview
The Field Service Engineer provides field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, startup, maintenance & repair, training, and modification of equipment.

Position requires ability to travel on short notice more tha 50% of the time. Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $115,000 annually and also offers a competitive benefits package.

A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:
- Providing technical solutions to customers that involve engineering research impacting equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, and economic impact analysis.
- Routinely providing technical solutions to customers on moderately complex problems within a set of products or industries served.
- Participating in larger project teams and may also be managing small project teams with narrow scope.
- Continually acquiring higher level knowledge of products and processes but can research independently and only requiring moderate levels of coaching and guidance.
- Provide technical assistance and support to company engineers and equipment end users in the quick and efficient startup of newly installed equipment.
- Responsible for the training of site personnel in the operation, maintenance and repair of the equipment.
- Write technical reports, bulletins, FAQs, troubleshooting and programming guidelines and procedures.
- Plan and modify products to meet customer needs.
- Set up and debug the company’s SCADA system at client sites.
- Develop action plans for open support cases and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Be responsible for the commissioning of both power metering products as well as entire industrial systems.

What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field (required)
- Minimum three years of relevant experience (required)
- Proficiency in relevant software and hardware.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in power systems, industry practices, and system protection, protective relays and their applications, settings, and testing.
- Demonstrated experience in software, integration and automation, industrial controls, PLCs, industry protocols (IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus), Ethernet systems, protocol analyzers, and industry SCADA practices.
- Strong technical training, excellent communication both written and verbal, and above expectation customer service skills.
- Strong programming skill in C, C++, and Java.
- Ability to direct daily work activities with limited supervision.
- Good understanding of industry standard communication protocols with an emphasis on Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP and BACnet.
- Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
