We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Systems Engineer or Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to serve as a Field Service Representative on a critical defense program. This position is contingent upon the successful capture of the program award, securing customer funding, and meeting final clearance requirements prior to the start date. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, and leadership, complementing our commitment to delivering top-tier support to our clients. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems support team in San Antonio, TX.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR CYBER SYSTEMS ENGINEER:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 0 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical fields; will consider 6 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • A current/active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Willingness to travel, including overseas
  • Must possess a valid U.S Passport with at least six months of validity or ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. Passport within 6 months of hire
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, etc.).
  • Understanding of the architecture, maintenance, and administration of Linux servers
  • Experience with automating tasks using Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Puppet or Python
  • Proven experience working within IT Systems deployment and Administration

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD with 1 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical fields; will consider 9 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • A current/active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Willingness to travel, including overseas
  • Must possess a valid U.S Passport with at least six (6) months of validity or ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. Passport with at least 6 months of validity within six (6) months of hire
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, etc.).
  • Understanding of the architecture, maintenance, and administration of Linux servers
  • Experience with automating tasks using Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Puppet or Python
  • Proven experience working within IT Systems deployment and Administration

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity in the context of the cloud
  • Cloud service certification (AWS, Azure, Google, or similar)
  • Experience with one or more programming languages
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with designing, deploying, and troubleshooting IPv4 networking, including subnetting, OSPF routing, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Recent roles in Technical or Team Leadership positions
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles within cloud environments.
  • Proven experience in applying agile methodologies to the development of cybersecurity capabilities for embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks, cybersecurity policy standards, and requirements development.
  • Demonstrated application of ITIL practices in managing IT services and processes
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities
  • Working as part of a team to design, build and maintain AWS and hybrid-cloud systems
  • Administering systems based on Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting IP networking systems for AWS and hybrid-cloud systems
  • Automating system deployment, operation and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tooling

  • Support risk assessments and ensure compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative cloud-based solutions, maintaining strong cybersecurity protocols.
  • Prepare and deliver technical documentation, reports, and presentations to stakeholders and customers.
