Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ABB Motion Services is seeking a qualified and motivated Field Service Technician to become part of our national field service team. We’re looking for a candidate who holds a valid Electrical Fitter License, demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude, and is proficient in Microsoft Office applications. In this role, you will carry out testing, diagnostics, and service work on large-scale rotating electrical machines of low to medium complexity. All work will be performed in accordance with ABB’s standard procedures, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.
You’ll also play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, working closely with clients and collaborating with internal ABB teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
The work model for the role is: On-site

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.
  • Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.
  • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Valid Electrical Fitter License
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on industry experience
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to remote and international sites
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and legal compliance
  • Experience in providing technical support and services
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to solve technical challenges
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication
