Description

AWS/CES IS SEEKING A SERVICE TECHNICIAN FOR OUR INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURING CLIENT IN GRAND LEDGE, MI

  • Location:Grand Ledge, MI
  • Schedule: Temp to Hire
  • Pay rate: $24-$34 per hour DOE
  • 60% travel (US mostly, some international)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or technical certification in a related field
  • 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in field service, machine installation, or technical support (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong knowledge of PLC systems; Allen Bradley or Modicon experience is required
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
  • Willingness to travel and work in customer facilities
  • Professional appearance and strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

Equipment Setup & Testing

  • Set up, check out, and debug RSC equipment both in-house and on-site
  • Study manuals and technical specs to understand system requirements and equipment functions
  • Assist with internal equipment testing and problem-solving

Customer Site Equipment Start-up

  • Lead equipment startup at customer plants and ensure all components function to spec
  • Develop and manage work schedules to meet project timelines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve start-up issues efficiently, while maintaining clear documentation
  • Foster strong relationships with customers and support seamless project turnover

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily logs of job progress and challenges
  • Submit accurate weekly reports to the Service Manager
  • Complete all required paperwork including job sheets, expense reports, and customer job file documentation in a timely manner

Customer Relations & Communication

  • Serve as a professional and positive representative of company on customer sites
  • Communicate job status, progress, and issues daily with both the customer and internal team
  • Provide customer feedback to help support continuous improvement initiatives
