WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Foundational knowledge and hands-on experience with HVAC systems, electrical wiring, or mechanical repair
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with tools, test instruments, and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn independently
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and professional conduct in diverse client environments
  • High attention to detail and ability to interpret technical standards and pass/fail criteria
  • Physically capable of lifting and positioning fragile filters up to 80 lbs (typically ranging from 24x24x12” to 48x72x12"), performing overhead work, kneeling, crouching, stair/ladder climbing, and moving equipment up to 250 lbs with assistance
  • Comfortable working in Cleanrooms, sterile or secure facilities, confined spaces, and various industrial or research settings
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract and strong, safe driving habits
  • Willingness to travel for extended hours, including to rural or remote client locations (vehicle provided)
  • Comfortable using computers and digital tools (Google Workspace; Microsoft 365 transition planned)
  • Secondary-level math and science required; college-level math or engineering background is a strong asset
  • Experience in field service roles or regulated lab/cleanroom environments is an asset
  • NSF49 accreditation is a strong asset

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join Con-Test, Canada’s leading provider of testing and certification services for clean air devices, biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, cleanrooms, and other controlled environment systems. We are hiring a Field Service Technician (Controlled Environments) based in either Saskatoon or Regina to support essential work in laboratories, hospitals, pharmaceutical compounding, and cleanroom manufacturing facilities across Saskatchewan.
Your journey will begin with formal hands-on training, including classroom sessions and field learning with senior technicians. Over time, you’ll build the expertise to independently conduct testing, diagnostics, and certification work.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Assist with and gradually perform testing and certification of biosafety cabinets, clean benches, glove boxes, fume hoods, cleanrooms, and HEPA filtration systems
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures and support minor repairs on site
  • Document test results and submit accurate reports for review and client records
  • Maintain customer files and equipment logs for assigned territory
  • Communicate professionally with clients and respond to service needs in a timely manner
  • Use digital tools to retrieve files, record findings, and support reporting workflows
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and use manufacturer or internal technical support when troubleshooting field issues
  • Travel to customer sites (urban and remote), often independently, using a company-provided vehicle
  • Attend required classroom, technical seminars, and manufacturer training as needed
  • Maintain and care for tools and test equipment; perform minor maintenance or repairs
  • Support other duties assigned by the Regional Manager or senior technicians
