JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for people to join our team of national Cathodic Protection Service Technicians to perform corrosion monitoring and testing of buried facilities. The role will require working across the whole of the UK and will involve travel from your current place of residence from Monday to Friday week on week.
Experience in Cathodic Protection would be beneficial but not essential as we would accept someone without experience providing you are willing to be trained and have an enthusiasm to learn new technical skills in servicing and testing.
Following a short period of inductions and training and the successful completion of a safe driver training assessment, you will perform duties involved with testing of cathodic protection systems initially under the direct supervision of a competent person and thereafter by a team of engineers and technicians.
You will be trained on a one-to-one basis both at our Stockton-on-Tees headquarters and in the field.
The role involves working on your own to a pre-planned route to a predetermined set of facilities.
Working away from your home regularly and typically five days per week will be required. Longer periods away from home may occasionally be required.
Undertake various test procedures to gather important information.
Perform simple tests on buried steel structures and record results.
You will be trained to replace, repair and install small Cathodic Protection systems and components.
You will learn how to record data on test sheets and send these to our administration team.
Work with specific objectives and instruction from our Field Services Coordinator using work packs, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
Manage and maintain field test equipment, ensure good operating condition and perform minor repairs.
Apply basic skills learned to gain a professional qualification and become a Cathodic Protection Technician Level I
You will receive training for Basic Safety Passport and health and safety awareness.
