Description
This is a newly created position and an ideal opportunity for someone looking to begin or further develop their career as a Field Service Technician. You will start at Level 1, with a clear progression pathway through the technician levels as you complete defined milestones. We will provide full training and development support throughout your journey, including exposure to other areas of the business to build strong cross-functional understanding. While most duties will be completed on customer sites, there will be occasions where work is required in our workshop. Due to the nature of field service, some travel and occasional overnight stays will be necessary. This role will also include supporting the local branch with various CIT (Continuous Improvement Team) projects throughout the year. Although the position is advertised as being based in Leeds, we are open to considering candidates from other UK locations for the right individual. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: * You will carry out troubleshooting, repairs, and support major overhauls across the full range of Cummins products, from Mid-Range to High Horsepower engines. Your work will span multiple sectors, including On-Highway, Off-Highway, Industrial, Marine, and Power Generation. * Work to documented service procedures, including Cummins Standard Repair Times (SRTs), ensuring that all tasks and associated documentation are completed accurately and on time. You will use our suite of electronic tools and systems, including Insite, Guidanz, QSOL, and ANVL. * Champion and model proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety. * Translate customer complaints to develop a Diagnostic troubleshooting plan; troubleshooting issues following guided workflows, procedures, and using specialized equipment such as mechanical and electronic service tools, and computer software to diagnoses and isolate failed components.  * Repair and maintain mechanical and electrical products by disassembling and assembling engines or generators, inspecting and replacing components using reuse guidelines to reduce ownership costs, performing progressive damage checks to restore pre‑failure condition, and completing all work within standard repair times and quality guidelines. Cummins is an equal opportunity employer. Our policy is to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified persons without regard to race, sex, color, disability, national origin, age, religion, union affiliation, sexual orientation, veteran status, citizenship, gender identity, or other status protected by law.
