Index Services, LLC is seeking to add to our field service team! We are seeking a Field Service Engineer candidate based out of Sugar Land to service the Southwest Houston area! We service highly specialized equipment for hospitals, laboratories and manufacturers in the life science industry. We are specifically seeking someone with ultra-pure water system service and cell culture incubator service experience. Reverse Osmosis, Electronic De-ionization, or Water For Injection (WFI) water system service experience is ideal. We are looking for someone based out of Sugar Land (or the surrounding area) to support our customers in Southwest Houston and surrounding Region.
This is a Field Service position so most hours are spent working in and traveling to customer locations. There is no office to go to, so our techs office at home. We are looking for career minded, self motivated applicants that are independent and learn fast! Excellent and demonstrative troubleshooting skills are a must. This is not a commission based job. Candidates with water system experience or experience in De-Ionization, Dialysis Equipment, Commercial Appliance Repair, or Restaurant Industrial Equipment move to the top of the interview list. The ideal candidate must be very computer literate, familiar with hand tools, have electro-mechanical knowledge / experience and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs of weight periodically.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
• Technical degree in areas such as Plumbing, Electronics, Computer Repair
• 2+ years previous professional experience in Plumbing, Electronics, Commercial Appliance Repair experience may substitute for Technical degree
• Certification or technical qualification in Biomedical Equipment Engineering or relative applied education
• Proficiency in tools and test equipment
• Basic IT skills to properly complete admin, training and some system installations
• Experience with Reverse Osmosis and water purification technologies

WORK EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Experience working in Laboratory and Clinical environments
• Experience working with Microsoft Office
• Experience working with PC Device connections and Network settings, including but not limited to: serial port and USB connections, resource selection and IP address settings
• Experience in testing, repairing and maintaining capital equipment
• Experience working with electronics and computer equipment
• Experience in the use of mechanical and hand tools and service test equipment
• Effective communication and customer service skills are essential with the ability to deliver customer satisfaction and grow the customer base within your assigned territory

As a Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, repair, preventative maintenance, verification, and qualification of water purification systems and a range of other laboratory and life-science equipment. In this role, it will be your responsibility to schedule and complete service visits in a timely manner.
You will collaborate with various internal support groups within Index Services, LLC and external support groups within our customer teams (Sales, Technical Services, Operations, Customer Service and others) to provide the highest level of satisfaction to our customers. In addition, you will be responsible for promoting and encouraging growth of Index Services’ products and services as well as our customer’s products and services such as: capital upgrades, accessories, consumables, etc..
Esurance of proper administration and management of the territory workload as well as properly document service call completion and provide appropriate documentation to customers.
Domestic travel up to 85% of your work-day, however our techs are home most nights.
Occasional work outside of typical business hours, depending on business needs where emergency service is requested.
