FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

IronCreek Energy Services is currently seeking a Field Service Technician for various locations across Western Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
Reporting to the Vice President Operations or their delegate, the person in the Field Service Technician role is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IronCreek equipment, specifically the 360° AI Camera Safety Technology. This cutting-edge system provides 360-degree high-definition coverage around excavators and other mobile equipment, using advanced AI to detect human presence and effectively eliminate blind spots and record video with GPS location data, and provide remote access through 4G cloud services.
This is a technical and detail-oriented position that requires the ability to adapt to client needs. The technician is mechanical and technically adept, and is an effective problem solver, and bring a strong work ethic and positive attitude with a solid focus on customer service. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced environment and play a key role in ensuring our clients can safely and effectively use this new technology.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must be dependable, reliable, and health- and safety-conscious.
  • Strong technical skills in electronic systems, IT, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience with GPS systems, telematics, or mobile equipment monitoring technology.
  • Knowledge of 4G network connectivity, SIM management, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to configure and maintain digital recorders, including data security and retrieval.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Ability to interpret system data and assist clients in using reporting features.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly to clients.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; comfort with databases, cloud portals, or fleet management software is an asset.
  • Excavator operation and/or heavy equipment experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently in the field.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Training or experience in electrical, electronic, IT, or mechanical systems required.
  • Familiarity with video surveillance systems, telematics, or GPS-based tracking equipment strongly preferred.
  • Experience configuring or maintaining cloud-based or remote monitoring systems an asset.
  • Solid computer skills required
  • Previous experience in oil & gas industry preferred
  • Maintain all Safety Tickets as required including:
  • H2S Alive (Required)
  • WHIMIS (Required, provided by IC)
  • TDG (Required provided by IC)
  • First Aid Level C CPR/AED (Required)
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Bear Awareness
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and calibrate the 360° AI Camera Safety Technology, including the digital recorder, GPS, and cloud-based 4G connectivity.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on all components of the system, including cameras, digital recorders, and connectivity hardware.
  • Train customers on the proper use and care of the system, including accessing and interpreting live GPS, video data, and system alerts.
  • Configure system features such as geo-fencing, panic alarms, speed monitoring, and custom alert settings as requested by clients.
  • Provide on-site service and technical support, ensuring equipment remains operational and reliable.
  • Conduct bi-weekly site visits for system checks and client support; manage this schedule independently.
  • Educate clients on the safety and productivity benefits of the system, including tamper-proof recording and remote fleet monitoring.
  • Complete accurate service reports, installation documentation, and system configuration records.
  • Support remote troubleshooting and assist fleet managers in accessing equipment data via the cloud.
  • Foster strong professional relationships with clients, consultants, and vendors, with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and communicate potential opportunities for additional equipment or technology services to clients.
  • Maintain company-issued tools and technology in safe working order.
  • Adhere to all internal and external safety requirements at all times.
