Opportunity
Due to continued growth, Normet is seeking to recruit a number of experienced Field Service Technicians / HD Mechanics to join our supportive and friendly team in Sydney. As one of our Field Service Technicians, you will play a vital role in commissioning, servicing, and repairing Normets and, occasionally, clients’ underground machines.
Our clients’ sites are approximately an hour’s drive from our Branch in Wetherill, so you’ll be able go home every night!

• Competitive hourly rate between $60 - $63 per hour, flat rate for all hours worked, plus 11.5% super

To shine in this position, you will need

• Experience in modification and repairs of heavy mobile equipment is essential.
• Certificate III Fitter or equivalent (Mechanical/Diesel/Transport/Agricultural) with a minimum of 3 years industry experience
• Available to work between 55 - 60 hours per week when working on site, while training in the workshop, hours will be 45 - 55 hours per week
• Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with a high level of problem solving and diagnostic skills
• Ability to read CAD engineer drawings, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics.
• Previous underground experience is highly desirable
• Drivers license is essential along with full working rights in Australia.
• The successful candidate must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and obtain a National Police Clearance before commencement.ResponsibilitiesConducting on-site commissioning, servicing and repairs of Normets and Clients underground machines:
• Modification and/or repair of vehicle systems including: chassis’, drivelines, engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrics
• Manufacturing and fitting of electrical and mechanical components
• Testing and adjusting of all mechanical hydraulics, circuits and pneumatic components
• Fault finding, repairing, replacing, and providing technical advice
• Inspection, analysis and recording critical mechanical information during the process of undertaking mechanical refurbishment work
• All work to be performed safely and at a level of quality acceptable to both Normet and customer expectation.
