QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Ability to work in both metric and imperial dimensions.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, switch from one task to another, or perform two or more tasks in rapid succession.
  • Effective problem-solving skills (analytical and creative problem solving)
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and work in a team environment.
  • Customer service skills, empathetic and clear communication.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to obtain the following training as required: Confined Space Entry; fall protection, WHMIS, Forklift, Crane, First Aid and other safe work training applicable to Oil Processing.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, specifications, and bill of material including terms and abbreviations as required to complete work assignments.
  • Ability to travel across Canada and the U.S.A for extended period of time.
  • Valid Passport and 5F driver’s license.
  • 2+ years’ experience within the transformer industry, including internal assembly, controls wiring, testing, and external assembly, including oil processing.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience would be is an asset.
  • Basic transformer testing experience would be an asset.
  • Full knowledge of hand and power tool use.
  • Knowledge in theory behind oil processing.

Responsibilities
  • Install and repair electrical equipment, such as transformers and parts. Perform on-site post-installation repair, calibration, and maintenance as scheduled or required, applying knowledge of electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming.
  • Receive, install and assemble the transformer in the field as per contract per work instructions.
  • Direct subcontractors in the field to conduct work in the safest and most economical way by being the onsite project lead.
  • Ensure the oil processing and commission testing is completed accurately according to the Instruction and Maintenance Manual that is provided with every unit.
  • Inspect and perform tests on the transformer and repair, as needed, as per engineering/ production/customer instructions.
  • Complete and distribute Interoffice Field Service Report, forms and checklists to the Parts & Service Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Customer relations and trouble-shooting on-site, inclusive of maintenance support.
  • Maintain a “Growth Mentality” always looking for additional opportunities for PTI to support the Customer.
  • Assist in troubleshooting of product failures and defects.
  • Assist in process quality “QA hold” inspections and quality requirement reviews.
