Position: Field Service Technician/Installer Location/s: Ashland, VA (Job will be done in Central Virginia) Job Type: Direct Hire Pay Rate: Up to $35.00/hr. (Depending on skills and experience) Shift: Overnight shift (potential for overtime) Benefits/Incentives: Insurance Offered (Medical, Dental, Vision, etc.) Job Description: Qualdoc is seeking for a highly skilled Field Service Technician to service customers in Central, VA. Responsibilities include diagnosing and fixing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance. Breakdowns will require troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components and circuits. \n Key Responsibilities: Inspect overhead industrial cranes and hoists to verify safety and compliance with Manufacturing, OSHA, and ANSI standards. Troubleshoot and repair overhead material handling equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment (strong knowledge of motor controls). Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment. Support customers by effectively interfacing with customers and the office in repairing equipment as needed. Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs. Provide a high level of communication with both Customers and the Office. Work Environment Considerations: Work in various environments and working conditions depending on the assignment. Occasional overtime required. Working at heights and doing some heavy lifting. Applicants with fewer qualifications will be considered at a lower level. Skills and Experience required: Strong knowledge of AC/DC theory Ability to trouble-shoot 480VAC 3-phase motor control systems and strong mechanical aptitude Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment and/or equivalent military experience. Must also have a valid driver's license Demonstrate a proven commitment to safety, and be comfortable working at heights Skills Requirements: Familiar with electrical troubleshooting, drives, gearboxes, and field welding if possible (tack). Experience troubleshooting motors and drives. Ability to rig and hang steel Ability to read blueprints OSHA 10/30 certified preferred Pre-Employment Requirements: Must pass a criminal background check (7-year felony + sex offender) Must pass a pre-employment drug test (10 panels for recreational drugs and opiates) Applicants for employment must be U.S. Citizens or national, U.S. permanent residents (i.e., current Green Card holders), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. \n
