Description
SAIC is looking for a Field Service Technician to support the AC-130 gunship located at the Air Force Base in Hurlburt Field, FL. NOTE: This position works rotating shifts. JOB DESCRIPTION Interfaces with the customer to handle service inquiries and problems to include performing customer support activities involving the installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Conducts on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order. Isolates equipment start-up malfunctions and takes corrective action. May make technical presentations and has a strong knowledge of products. Trains customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities. Provides technical support for the 30mm and 105mm weapons systems in the areas of field service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and training support to the Air Force squadron at Hurlburt Field. Provides on-site technical support for weapons and associated equipment used by the squadron. Acts as the liaison between the squadron and the Small Arms Branch at Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN for any technical issues related to the 30mm and 105mm weapons systems. REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 6 years of preventative and corrective aircraft maintenance experience. Must have Air Force Mechanic experience. Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to travel 50%25 of the time; CONUS and OCONUS. Must be able to work rotating shifts (Days, Swings, Mids). Must have public speaking skills and the ability to deliver presentations to groups. Must have experience with maintenance data collection systems. Must have the motivation and ability to research directives, regulations and policies to determine solutions to problems, issues and concerns. Must have a commitment to customer service and be proactive in implementing policy as well as identifying and solving problems. Proficient in Microsoft Office products and have the ability to learn company software. Physical Requirements: Must have dexterity in fingers in both hands. Ability to pick up and carry 70 lbs. for a distance of 50 feet. Able to withstand exposure to temperature extremes in performance of duties. DESIRED Experience in reading and understanding technical manual fundamentals and procedures. Experience with Military weapons systems and maintenance practices desired. Air Force flight line and sortie generation experience
