As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for a variety of generators, pumps and related equipment across Nova Scotia. YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
  • Excellent problem-solving skill
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have clean driver’s abstract
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment associated with generators
  • Inspect and test generator systems to ensure proper operation
  • Inspect and maintain electrical systems including connections, wiring, and components
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on generators
  • Perform scheduled maintenance inspections, lubrication, and adjustments
  • Monitor and adjust fuel/air ratio to ensure optimal performance
  • Monitor and adjust voltage regulator settings to ensure optimal performance
  • Install and/or replace generator parts and components
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair generator control systems
  • Make recommendations and perform repairs as necessary
  • Prepare and submit reports and other documents as required
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Ensure safety and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
