Description:

Welcome to the role of Field Service Technician! This position is a great opportunity for someone with a technical/electrical background and a passion for problem-solving. We are currently seeking a full time Service Technician to join our Mt Pearl NL location. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for a variety of generators, pumps and related equipment across Newfoundland and Labrador. This position will include work in remote sites for equipment commissioning, repair and troubleshooting services.

YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Inspect and test generator systems to ensure proper operation
  • Inspect and maintain electrical systems including connections, wiring, and components
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on generators
  • Perform scheduled maintenance inspections, lubrication, and adjustments
  • Monitor and adjust fuel/air ratio to ensure optimal performance
  • Monitor and adjust voltage regulator settings to ensure optimal performance
  • Install and/or replace parts and components
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair generator control systems
  • Make recommendations and perform repairs as necessary
  • Prepare and submit reports and other documents as required
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Ensure safety and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
