Job Details:
This role is responsible for providing maintenance and repair of client equipment on Cubic maintained assets, including the most complex fault finding, ensuring devices are returned to full service and maintained to the highest possible standard while achieving relevant contractual SLAs.
Be the go-to SME Technician to attend to faults following customer escalation or faults identified during the Repeat failure process and provide written reports to Service Management.
This position offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of technology within the transportation sector.

Note: this is a permanent 5 night shift role, Sunday - Thursday

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out fixed wiring testing in accordance with NICEIC guidelines
  • Complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports
  • Complete Minor Works Certificates
  • Deputise for and carry out all aspects of the Field Services Team Leader role.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentoring to the Field Service Technician to aid in personal and professional development and provide comprehensive written and verbal feedback.
  • Assist in providing both classroom and field-based training.
  • Respond to and repair Cubic device faults promptly and follow defined maintenance procedures to maximise device reliability and availability.
  • Use of company-issued netbook to provide commissioning of Cubic network assets.
  • Bring around fault resolution on the most complex of faults.
  • Carry out the Minimum Call Procedure (MCP) during any work on Cubic maintained assets.
  • Provide detailed, comprehensive written fault analysis to service management following investigative call attendance.
  • Assist in the preparation, installation, commissioning, and delivery of asset upgrades and project completion.
  • Ensure personal administration is completed promptly, for example, timesheets and vehicle checks.
  • Provide support to the Maintenance Team Leaders and Field Services Managers.
  • Ensure all relevant working practices comply with statutory health and safety policies and external customer requirements.
  • Attend and proactively participate in the Maintenance Team meetings.
  • Assist with stock takes when requested.
  • Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policies and procedures. In particular, Cubic’s Code of Conduct, Quality, Security, and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Skills knowledge and experience:

Essential:

  • C&G 2391/2392 Inspection and Testing qualified.
  • BS7671 - 18th Edition qualified.
  • HNC Electronics, equivalent or above
  • Qualified Electrician/Electrical level 3 qualification to ONC or BTEC in Electronic Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • HND, C&G, or recognised qualification in Electronic or Mechanical engineering
  • Able to problem-solve and critically assess the root cause of failures.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages with Intermediate Excel abilities.
  • Able to write Field Service Bulletins and Work Instructions
  • Network systems working knowledge.
  • Basic fiber optic experience

Desirable:

  • Experience in leading teams or people management
  • Minor civils experience
  • Intermediate fiber optic experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Safety-related qualifications
