Field Supervisor – Heavy Civil
Location: Phoenix Valley, AZ (various jobsites)

Job Summary
The Field Supervisor – Heavy Civil leads day-to-day field operations for assigned scopes of work (earthwork, utilities, paving, structures). You will organize crews, equipment, and subcontractors; communicate expectations; and drive safety, quality, schedule, and cost outcomes across multiple tasks and phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise crew activities and subcontractors; set daily expectations and verify work to plans/specs.
  • Plan, schedule, and allocate labor, equipment, and materials to meet production goals.
  • Communicate manpower, material, and equipment needs to project leadership in advance.
  • Track crew hours, equipment usage, quantities, and daily production; complete timecards accurately.
  • Lead daily safety huddles and job hazard reviews; enforce company safety and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate inspections, deliveries, traffic control, and site housekeeping.
  • Troubleshoot field issues (utilities conflicts, grade, access, sequencing) and implement corrective actions.
  • Support project closeout activities, punch lists, and final site cleanup.
  • Maintain an insurable driving record and represent WW Clyde professionally with owners and inspectors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of heavy civil construction experience (roadway, earthwork, utilities, structures).
  • Minimum 1+ year of supervisory/lead experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional trade school or college coursework preferred.
  • Ability to read plans, grades, and stakeout; working knowledge of means/methods and civil equipment.
  • Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills; team-builder with a coaching mindset.
  • Basic proficiency with HCSS/field reporting tools a plus.
  • Able to perform occasional manual tasks and lift up to 50 lbs; work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license; willing to travel within the Phoenix Valley and, as needed, elsewhere in Arizona.
