Description
Description Plainfield Park District is looking for scorekeepers and field supervisors for Basketball season! This is a seasonal part-time position with an hourly wage of $16.00 - $16.50 per hour Position is available January - March Hours: Friday 5:45pm - 9:15pm Saturday 8:15 am - 1:30pm, 1:30pm - 7:45pm Sunday 8:45am - 12:00pm, 12:00pm - 4:15pm Responsible for officiating or scorekeeping of assigned Park District sporting events. Coordinates staff and equipment needs to ensure games are conducted in a safe, fair and timely fashion. Act as a representative of the Park District, ensuring events operate according to park district policy. Operates scoreboard, keeps official scorebook, and enforces rules. Scorekeepers are required to participate in all required training. Hours vary from 3 to 12 per week depending on schedule. Ensure a safe and efficient environment by enforcing operating procedures; report inappropriate or unsafe practices to the Recreation Supervisor. Monitor field/facility and game progress. Respond to questions, complaints, and emergency situations; take appropriate courses of action, notify recreation supervisor whenever necessary. Problem solve. Handle 911 emergency situations while adhering to emergency procedures and notification process. Assist in collection of any outstanding paperwork from officials. Work hours will be specific to sport category, as directed by the Recreation Supervisor. Performs all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District’s safety program. Performs any additional related tasks as required. Requirements 16 years of age or older. 1 year practical experience in sports related field with detailed knowledge as scorekeeper. Experience playing or scorekeeping any level of assigned sport category. Must be able to work hours specific to sport category. C.P.R. and A.E.D. certified Ability to lead/advise volunteers and participants to ensure the success of assigned games. Ability to follow direction and work independently. Detailed oriented with good organizational skills.
