POSITION OVERVIEW

The Field Support Officer plays a pivotal role in the Waste Services Unit, which is responsible for crucial waste collection and disposal services throughout the Sutherland Shire. This position is designed to support the leadership team in managing the day-to-day operational activities of waste services, ensuring that our operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer service expectations.
Key responsibilities include monitoring transportation logistics, resource management, and implementing process improvements while ensuring compliance with relevant corporate strategies, policies, and government legislation. The Field Support Officer will also be involved in key operational change initiatives that contribute to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable community.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual with a passion for waste management and operational excellence.

  • Previous supervisory experience in operations management.
  • Certificate 3 in Front Line Management, Waste Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Current MR Driver’s Licence and Construction Industry Certificate (White Card).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and relevant workplace legislation.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety, and a customer-centric approach in their work. A background in developing work programs and managing resources effectively will be highly regarded.
