Mission Overview
Join our mission-critical team supporting the U.S. Navy’s Surveillance Towed Array Sensor System (SURTASS) program. As an Electro-Mechanical Specialist, you’ll be part of a skilled Field Support Technician team ensuring complex shipboard electro-mechanical systems are fully mission-ready. From hydraulic power to HVAC, your expertise will keep vital maritime surveillance platforms operating at peak performance during deployments and maintenance cycles.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technologies, Graduate of an accredited trade school or apprenticeship program; OR graduate of a U.S. Navy mechanical/electrical program. Additional experience, training, or certifications may substitute degree requirement.
  • Proven knowledge and abilities with maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical systems, with documented training in hydraulic power systems and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of:
  • Electrical systems
  • Mechanical systems
  • Hydraulic systems
  • HVAC systems
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • US passport, valid driver’s license, and ability to meet and maintain mariner physical fitness standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years combined experience maintaining and repairing complex, integrated electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with SURTASS or other U.S. Navy shipboard maintenance programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in austere maritime environments.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect & Maintain: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems aboard SURTASS vessels.
  • Test & Verify: Conduct operability and functional tests on critical shipboard systems to meet mission readiness requirements.
  • Document & Report: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, technical reports, and readiness documentation in accordance with Navy and program standards.
  • Collaborate & Support: Work alongside other O&M technicians, ship crews, and government representatives during Mission Readiness Availability (MRA) periods and operational deployments.
  • Ensure Compliance: Follow quality assurance protocols and planned maintenance procedures outlined in official SURTASS documentation.
