The Role ALS Environmental is seeking a motivated Field Sample Technician to join our team based at our Stafford office. In this role, you’ll support high-profile clients and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic field environment. We’re committed to your development from day one, offering comprehensive training including first aid, 4WD and defensive driving courses, along with practical instruction in our sampling protocols and testing methods. The successful applicant will be responsible for completing field sampling services for our clients in Southeast QLD. The role offers sampling experience across several different sectors including Health, Aquatic and Trade Waste Industries. The day to day With our Stafford office as a base, visiting client sites in a company vehicle Complete pre-agreed sampling requirements around SE QLD Recording samples for our clients and laboratory’s visibility Delivering samples to our Sample Receipt team in our Stafford laboratory to progress testing Identifying opportunities to expand or improve our clients experience and scope, from on-the-ground observations and insights. Assisting in other laboratory sections as required. No two days are the same — you’ll travel across diverse Queensland landscapes, collecting a range of samples using specialised techniques. With real trust and autonomy, your work directly supports our clients’ commercial and environmental decisions, helping to make a positive impact in local communities. Responsibilities include: Adhering to all safety requirements and Journey Management processes Driving light vehicles, occasionally off-road Calibration and Maintenance of field equipment Collection of samples from designated sample points. The Essentials Environmental Science (or similar) tertiary qualification Field Experience is desired but not essential A full, open driver’s license (manual is highly regarded) An eagerness to learn and a positive attitude Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment Demonstrated attention to detail Strong communication skills Strong safety focus Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
