The Field Technician Automatic Operator will be responsible for the installation and service of automatic doors with or without direct onsite supervision.

Essential Functions

  • Install and service automatic doors
  • Maintain company-owned equipment
  • Work in a team environment with other team members
  • Observe all safety rules and best practices
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Other relative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an auto ops/automatic gate technician.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical components related to commercial automatic gates.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Experience with installation of automatic swinging, sliding, folding and/or revolving doors or other commercial doors is preferred
  • Carpentry, electrical, or wiring experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with construction procedures
  • Manufacturer specific certifications
  • Familiar with construction procedures
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Valid drivers license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work with others on a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand and follow directions
  • Ability to handle basic hand and power tools
  • AAADM certification a plus

Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.
Work Environment
This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
