EDUCATION:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

1.Experienced blower door technician, with the ability to perform accurate tests, diagnose and locate hidden air leaks, familiar with zone pressure diagnostics, is beneficial but not required. On-site training will be provided.
2.Experience working within the new residential construction industry and knowledge of residential construction techniques is a requirement for this role
3. Detail oriented with ability to prioritize work
4. Excellent time management skills with the ability to set priorities and multi-task
5. This is an entry level job with opportunities for advancement

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must have reliable vehicle to drive to various sites

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced residential construction Field Technician as this role requires analysis, inspection and testing of homes for builders, as per the NRCan REA role requirements and service delivery guidelines.
This role is primarily responsible for blower door testing, and data collection- noting all components that will affect the energy efficiency of the house, including the mechanical equipment, windows, building envelope, insulation levels, and more.
The Field Technician will also focus on the company’s commitment to enthusiastic, helpful, and knowledgeable services to be provided to our builder clients and industry partners.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for delivering on-site blower door inspections and data collection protocols relating to the following program requirements:
    · EnergyStar for New Homes
    · EnerGuide 15.0+
    · Net Zero Home
    Ontario Building Code compliance:
    . Air testing
    . Data collection forms
  2. At the direction of the Manager, assist with:
    · Maintaining quality of BKC field inspections and data collection in line with program requirements and standards (e.g., NRCan, CaGBC, CHBA)
  3. Ensure BKC health and safety policies and all associated regulations are followed at all times.
  4. Maintain BKC field and technical equipment and tools, regular tracking, safety checks, calibration and general maintenance.
