QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in field work, construction, inventory, or facilities.
  • Strong attention to detail in photo/file handling.
  • Physically fit, comfortable working indoors/outdoors and around heavy vehicles.
  • Valid G driver’s license and reliable vehicle (travel between sites required).
  • Certifications (assets, but training may be provided):
  • Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid/CPR
  • Metrolinx Personal Track Safety (PTS)
  • OACETT (C.E.T.) membership considered a strong asset and will yield higher pay.
    Job Type: Fixed term contract
    Contract length: 6 months
    Pay: $19.78-$20.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 44 per week

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking Field Technicians to support a major Metrolinx asset tagging project across bus maintenance facilities, GO stations, and park & ride lots. This role involves applying barcode labels to physical assets, photographing each asset (two photos per tag), and assisting with data collection for reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel daily to Metrolinx sites across the GTA and Ontario.
  • Identify assets from the Master Asset List (MAL).
  • Affix or remove barcode tags as required.
  • Take and properly label two photos per asset (close-up and context).
  • Maintain strict file-naming conventions for thousands of photos.
  • Follow all safety requirements and PPE standards.
  • Report discrepancies to the Site Supervisor.
  • Assist in keeping detailed Excel-based tagging reports up to date.
