Description
Field Technician - Laborer $18-23/hr Very labor-intensive and physically demanding. Work environments vary: natural gas frac sites, steel mills, chemical tanks, and sewage processing plants. Tasks include shoveling sand, cleaning oil and metal chips, pressure washing, and confined space entry. Clean-shaven faces are required for proper respirator and SCBA use, per OSHA regulations. Work is 24/7, with a rotation giving each tech one weekend day and one weekday off (not always consecutive). REPORTS TO: Foreman, Superintendent, Operations Manager, Asst. GM, and General Manager Primary Purpose: under general supervision, performs a range of tasks required for industrial service operations including but not limited to tank cleaning, manual remediation services, spill cleanup, industrial cleaning, etc. in accordance with established company policies and procedures. Essential Job Functions: 1. Follow all applicable safety rules regulations, guidelines, policies, and site-specific safety plans when performing cleanup activities and donning protective gear.  2. Drive a pick-up truck and tool trailer 3. Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers. 4. Enter and work in confined spaces (frac tanks, mud tanks, roll-offs, etc.) 5. Perform physical labor associated with cleanup activities, sample collection, waste removal, and other remediation services.  6. Operate routinely used tools and equipment to include but not limited to pressure washers, generators, drills, air hammers/jacks, vacuum hoses, etc.  7. Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor 8. Warehouse maintenance, stock supplies, building maintenance  9. Complete required paperwork, forms, and records as needed 10. Perform other duties and tasks as directed by your supervisor Minimum Requirements:  1. Must have a current and valid minimum Class “C’ driver’s license  2. Must have a current and valid DOT medical card  3. Submit to and pass pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, random, and post-accident drug testing 4. Submit to and pass HAZWOPER physical 5. Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments 6. Must demonstrate general knowledge of operations and ability to safely operate assigned equipment 7. High school diploma or GED preferred  General Expectations: 1. Must have a flexible schedule: 1. Daylight and nighttime work, occasional overnight stays with long hours, weekend work, and out of town travel will be required as needed. 2. Employees will be scheduled with as much advanced notice as possible, but short notice will sometimes be unavoidable.  3. Rotating on-call schedule for emergency spill response. Compensation at high rate when outside normal business hours per the Emergency Incentive Rate policy 2. Must have operable cell phone and voicemail box that is set-up and can receive messages at all times. 3. Must follow company policy on respirator use and comply with requirement to be clean shaven in all facial area(s) that seal to the respirator face piece. Applies on a per job basis where respirators are required per company and OSHA safety standards. 4. Wear company provided uniform and don required PPE at all times while on the job. 5. Bring your own lunch and drink every day (water will be provided by company). Physical Demands:  1. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, run, climb, squat, and kneel as a part of daily job functions. 2. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required tasks  3. Must be capable of lifting 100lbs. or more with assistance Working Conditions: 1. Outdoor work including work in inclement weather conditions is required including heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, etc. 2. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established company safety standards, including the use of a respirator. a. Maybe exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration 3. Must be able and willing to enter and work in confined and dark spaces.  Company Will Provide: 1. Hard Hat 2.
