JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must hold a valid BC security license.
  • Valid Advanced Security Training (AST) certification; must be qualified to certify others.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in security operations, training, or leadership roles within the security industry is required.
  • Must have experience apprehending shoplifters and conducting loss prevention investigations.
  • Experience conducting virtual and in-person training sessions.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience is required.
  • Must be familiar with field operations and security site management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, coach, and mentor staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple departments and management levels.
  • Proficient in using training platforms for virtual sessions (e.g., Google Suite and MS Teams).
  • Experience using TrackTik or similar workforce management software.
  • Must possess strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities, particularly in planning training, site visits, and follow-ups.
  • Capable of building and maintaining a talent pipeline in collaboration with management.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally for site visits and training sessions.

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

As a Field Training Manager at Blackbird Security Inc., you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing training programs for our security personnel. You are someone with operational knowledge, experience, and are committed to our purpose, and loyalty, amongst other attributes.
This position is crucial in ensuring that our team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles, contributing to the overall success of our security services.
Your primary responsibility will be to fully support the Regional Manager and District Manager in their role as it pertains to the cost-effective management of all operational facets associated with your region. A detailed overview of our job duties is listed below.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting Provincial and National virtual orientation sessions.
  • Conducting Provincial virtual training sessions.
  • Conducting live training classes for various programs Blackbird Security Inc. offers.
  • Certifying guards for Advanced Security Training (AST) certifications.
  • Overseeing Field Supervisors in coordination with respective Regional and District Managers.
  • Viewing Field Supervisors itinerary involvement in offering constructive suggestions to respective District and Regional Managers. Regional Managers will make final decisions.
  • Organizing Field Supervisor recap reviews. Directing oversight to follow up with Field Supervisors in coordination with respective Regional and District Managers.
  • Building a supervisor pipeline in coordination with respective Regional and District Managers.
  • Assisting with guard disciplinary actions via verbal and written warnings in coordination with respective Regional and District Managers.
  • Planning site visits for field maintenance.
  • Completing various field tasks under the direction of our Training and Development Manager and/or our British Columbia Operations Manager.
  • Conducting all field visits with the utmost professionalism while focusing on staff development and training while leading by example.
  • Conducting yourself as a Company ambassador.
  • Communicating any necessary updates and announcements on respective supervisor groups.
  • Conducting detailed analysis of guard reporting groups focusing on areas of weakness to improve ROI following up directly with guards and in coordination with respective Regional and District Managers.
  • Using TrackTik for documentation purposes and analysis to help improve guard scheduling for ROI.
  • Completing all documentation as assigned by our Training and Development Manager and/or our British Columbia Operations Manager.
  • Covering all billable shifts as assigned by our Training and Development Manager and/or our British Columbia Operations Manager.
