Description

To provide general construction labor tasks, in an efficient and safe manner, as part of a welding crew to erect precast concrete panels. Essential Functions * Completes general construction labor tasks necessary to weld precast concrete panels * Takes work direction from detail or erection crew foreperson * May perform work of a miscellaneous nature as directed by foreman * Uses materials/supplies in an efficient manner * Handles equipment in a responsible manner * Follows established safety procedures and policies * Execute other duties as assigned. Requirements * Welding experience. * Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions * Ability to work well with others * Ability to work from heights, including but not limited to ladders and aerial work platforms * Ability to obtain membership to a local union * General knowledge of construction practices * Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation * Ability to travel extensively (75% of the time or more, including overnights) and work overtime as needed Preferred Qualifications * 2+ years of construction or manual labor experience * High School Diploma or equivalent * Certified Welder (AWS, 3g & 4g) Physical Requirements Sitting 50-75% Standing 25-50% Walking 25-50% Phone Usage 50-75% Computer Usage 50-75% Customer Time * Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move a minimum of 80 lbs., have strong abilities in spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on and off flatbed semi-trailers and other surfaces Work Environment: * Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles Pay: Union Local No. 563 Wages
