Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Filament Winder Level 3 is responsible for operating the filament winders, which includes setting up, tearing down and cleaning the filament winders. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Filament Winder Level 3 is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities: Squeegee billets during production. Disassemble, clean, and set up resin baths. Assist with offload of production billets using SOP's. Certified use of half-face respirator Use equipment and tools safely as designed/documented. Inspect and clean/wax all production wrapping mandrels. Load production chemical into containers for production, i.e., using heavy duty tilter. Check tension of fiberglass and log before production start. Use production mixers to fill resin baths during operations. Load Fiberglass for production use. Gauge verification of billets. Use appropriate strategies and solutions for dealing with conflicts and differences to maintain a smooth workflow. Open production schedule and dictate what part needs to run next on the winders. Conduct consumable inventory on a weekly basis and pass needs to supervisor or manager. Qualified to operate a WellBoss forklift (certified). Train new hires in the proper operational procedures for the shop Maintain required attendance and punctuality as scheduled to meet production goals. Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: The Filament Winder Level 3 must at a minimum possess the following: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED. One year of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred. Ability to safely operate various hand-held tools and power tools. Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-pressured, and fast-paced environment. Ability to comprehend production requirements. Ability to speak, read, and write the English language fluently. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Filament Winder Level 3 must be able to: Lift a minimum of 50lbs., repeatedly, without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance. Push/pull heavy objects with the proper equipment. Cardiorespiratory: Have average to above-average cardiorespiratory fitness* to perform the essential tasks of this job safely. Must be able to safely tolerate significant demands on the cardiorespiratory system related to working in hot and humid environments, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting heavy items. *Cardiorespiratory demands vary depending on speed/rate of activity, environmental influences (i.e., temperature, humidity, etc.) body weight, external weight/forces, age, and level of fitness of employee. Wear the appropriate PPE when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.). Stand for long periods of time; up to 8-12 hours a day.
