The ideal applicant is computer-proficient, communicates clearly both verbally and in writing, listens attentively, solves problems effectively, and can prioritize tasks while working both independently and professionally. Requirements File Clerk Responsibilities: Scans physician-dictated reports and complies with requests for copies of patient records from patients and other persons such as physicians, patients and insurance companies following departmental policies to safeguard patient confidentiality. Locates records, which have been checked out or are missing, in accordance with departmental policies for safeguarding patient records. Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental and/or infection control standards. Additional Functions: May perform other routine clerical tasks, such as typing, making copies and distributing mail as required. Prepares (to include stocking of medical supplies as needed) and cleans exam rooms for provider/patient needs. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. May be required to fill in or assist other staff members, thus would need to be familiar with basic duties of their job.
