The Role      This pivotal role sits within our dedicated Retail Cost team, offering a unique opportunity to gain exposure across a crucial area of financial operations. You will take full responsibility for managing the fixed asset register and project accounting, driving precision and support across the business.   What You Will Take On   You will manage essential financial processes to help the business grow, taking ownership of your workload and making key decisions every day:   * Fixed Asset Register Management: Take full responsibility for the register, collaborating closely with our external system provider to ensure the system is utilised effectively.   * Financial Reporting & Analysis: Manage period-end transactions, including additions, disposals, depreciation, revaluations, and impairment charges. You will provide clear balance sheet reconciliations, monthly actual figures, and forecasts for the entire Group to support strategic decision-making.   * Risk & Opportunity Tracking: Highlight potential financial risks and opportunities within your scope, managing any discrepancies to ensure issues are fully understood and resolved.   * Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance control environments within the Retail Cost team.   * Year End Audit: Play a critical role in the year-end close process, preparing supporting data for annual statutory accounts and liaising directly with external auditors.   What You Will Bring   We want to hear from people who are clear communicators, highly organised, and ready to challenge themselves:   * Qualifications: CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified.   * Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and strong IT literacy are essential.   * Analytical Thinking: The ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights with total clarity.   * Organisation: Outstanding attention to detail along with the planning skills needed to prioritise your workload and meet critical timescales.   #LI-DC1 #LI-Hybrid You know Next, but did you know we’re a FTSE-100 retail company employing over 44,000 people across the Next group.
