Are you ready to make an impact? West Monroe is seeking a highly skilled Finance & Accounting Business Technologist to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional with a hybrid background in accounting operations and finance systems, who thrives at the intersection of business processes, technology, and data. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving automation, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of accounting and finance systems. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial operations, and technology solutions, as well as the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across Finance, IT, and other business units. Key Responsibilities Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy, speed, and compliance. Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure that system configurations align with operational requirements and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS). Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of finance and accounting systems (e.g., ERP, EPM, AP/AR automation tools). Act as a liaison between Finance and IT teams to ensure alignment between business needs and technical capabilities. Evaluate, recommend, and deploy technology solutions to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and support business growth. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to accounting and finance operations. Develop and maintain system documentation, including workflows, user guides, and training materials. Design and implement reporting and analytics solutions to provide actionable insights into financial performance and operational efficiency. Ensure data integrity across systems by implementing robust data validation and reconciliation processes. Support the integration of financial data across various platforms, ensuring seamless flow of information between systems. Partner with finance and accounting teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements. Work closely with IT, vendors, and external consultants to deliver system enhancements and upgrades. Train end-users on new systems and processes, ensuring adoption and proficiency. Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in accounting operations, financial systems, or a hybrid role. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and compliance standards. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Workday Financials, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and other finance-related tools (e.g., Adaptive Planning, BlackLine, Coupa, Adaptive Planning). Proven ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and finance/accounting stakeholders. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau). Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on root cause analysis. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams. Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., RPA, Alteryx) and their application in finance and accounting processes is a plus. Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below).
