Description:
We are looking for a dedicated Finance/Accounting officer to join our team in Guildford. In this role you will play a key part in managing financial operation and ensuring the overall financial health and efficiency of the organization.
Work closely with the CEO and Managing Director, you will handle a range of responsibilities from daily handling of accounting tasks, bookkeeping, office administration, assist with financial reporting, and maintain the overall accuracy of our financial records while working closely with various teams to achieve operational goals.

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record daily financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts, and follow up on outstanding invoices with clients and vendors as necessary.
- Pay salaries, superannuation, staff expenses, and bills.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts regularly to ensure financial accuracy.
- Manage employee expense reports, verifying and categorising expenses for accurate financial reporting.
- Support monthly and yearly financial close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliation.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements under the guidance of accountants.
- Enter financial data into the accounting system and conduct routine reviews to identify discrepancies.
- Handle other finance-related administrative duties as required
- Prepare data for accountant to meet ATO compliances when due.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in Building & Construction industry or a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and general ledger functions.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, processes, and reporting
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
