Description

We are looking for an experienced finance manager to join our team where the individual will report directly to the managing Director. The group is formed of 4 companies, being a bathroom showroom, a plumbing & heating business, an electrical services business, and a rental property business. The candidate will be responsible for the financial affairs of all 4 businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Being solely responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations including general data entry, preparation of quarterly VAT returns, monthly CIS returns, and processing of monthly payroll.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and other financial data, including preparation of the Directors personal tax returns.
Manage all of the financial affairs of the businesses, including making bank payments to suppliers, employees, HMRC, etc.
Prepare and issue all sales invoices and pro-actively contact debtors to chase unpaid invoices, while keeping track of retention payments withheld.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
Analyse financial data and prepare profit tracking reports across multiple projects.
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and business development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • · Professional accounting qualification: AAT, ACA, CIMA or ACCA.
  • · Proven experience in financial management & accounting.
  • · Proficiency in accounting software, Sage experience is essential for this role.
  • · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • · Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • · Good knowledge of CIS, subcontractor tax rules, and retention payments.
  • · Previous experience in processing monthly payroll with a good understanding of PAYE.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
