What you do
- Ensure timely completion of the bi-annual valuation process and monthly roll-forward valuations.
- Identify and report on material trends from the valuation process and assess potential impact on future profitability and solvency
- Provide input into the planning process and ensure projected Profit& Loss and balance sheet items are validated and realistic
- Analyze a range of data sources as inputs to the parameterization of the Internal Capital Model
- Monitor the implications of economic change drivers on asset liability management and solvency
- Contribute to the development, improvement and implementation of actuarial reporting process and risk identification
- Contribute where relevant to broader AAL projects and initiatives.
- Consult with stakeholders to analyze the contributions and value of strategic actuarial projects
What you bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related discipline
- Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) or equivalent
- Comprehensive understanding of organizational financial frameworks and experience in general insurance reserving
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision making
- Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with specialized systems, software, databases, presentation, reporting and communication tools
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with clients, intermediaries and service providers
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and empower people to develop individual and team potential
- Ability to plan and prioritize effectively individually, as well as effectively managing direct reports to organize tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
