About the Role


Reporting to the Directors, you will be responsible for the day-to-day finance and administration requirements across Brown Contractors and Brown Contractors Traffic Management.


Key duties include:


- Accounts payable, invoice checking, coding, supplier reconciliations and payment runs

- Accounts receivable, customer invoicing, progress claims and debt collection

- Weekly payroll, superannuation, PAYG, STP and payroll-related administration

- Bookkeeping, bank and credit card reconciliations, BAS and GST workpapers

- Weekly cashflow reporting, debtor reporting and job-cost allocation

- Maintaining records for plant finance, leases, chattel mortgages and insurances

- Checking timesheets, dockets, purchase orders, subcontractor claims and  job coding

- Supporting tender submissions, insurance renewals,licences and business documentation

- Maintaining organised finance, project, supplier and corporate filing systems

- Preparing letters, reports, spreadsheets and management information as required

- Supporting the general running of a busy depot office and improving office systems


About You


You will ideally have:


- Experience in finance, bookkeeping, accounts or administration management

- Strong accounts payable, receivable, payroll and reconciliation experience

- Experience with BAS, GST, PAYG and general financial compliance

- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities

- Strong Microsoft Office, accounting and payroll system skills

- A skilled approach when dealing with staff, suppliers, subcontractors and customers

- Experience in civil construction, transport, plant hire, trade contracting or a project-based business will be highly regarded
