What we are looking for A strong Finance background with experience in budgeting and monitoring as well as accounting. Previous experience in capacity building finance and non-financial staff. Ability to do financial modelling with solid knowledge and experience with ERP systems. Experience in the Ukraine context, with fluency in English and Ukrainian, both written and verbal. What you will do The purpose of a Finance Adviser is to perform tasks in adherence to financial, accounting policies and procedures, support the process of donor and partner reporting, and financial analysis of different grants. Key responsibilities: * Implement NRC’s financial systems, routines and procedures in Country and Area Offices and provide guidance on compliance with NRC (global and national) policies and procedures, handbooks and guidelines and/or propose new initiatives to bridge gaps and implement these.  * Support the Finance Manager in developing the master budget and in conducting regular financial analysis of spending against the Master Budget and follow up on major variances. * Ensure strong grants monitoring and reporting systems are in place to ensure timely reporting and proper utilisation of funds.  * Ensure that monthly financial reporting is conducted across areas (Budget vs Actual reports for support & project costs, projections up to the grants end date) as well as prepare donor financial reports and proposals in line with donor requirements (template and deadline) * Identify, analyse and evaluate key processes and gaps in the team activities and support the training, capacity building and mentoring of finance and non-finance teams in all offices  * Support on addressing that issues related to finance adhere to the “Do no harm” approach  * Support and training of line managers with budget responsibilities as well as supporting and training of Implementing Partners on budgeting and reporting standard practices * Surge Capacity of Finance Department in Country and Area Offices as well as act as Finance Manager when appointed and perform any other Finance tasks as necessary and delegated by the Finance Manager.
