Temporary, full-time opportunity up to 31 December 2027 Role based in Sydney/Parramatta (other locations may be negotiated) with flexible/hybrid working environment. Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $113,574 - $125,720 + super. About the role As a Finance Advisor, you will ensure efficient payment delivery and accurate financial management for programs within the Community Recovery Branch. You’ll oversee funding allocation and monitoring in line with policies, supporting initiatives that strengthen disaster recovery and community resilience. Your role includes coordinating financial reporting, managing budgets and reimbursements, and providing advice to guide timely decisions. You’ll prepare clear reports and briefs, develop processes for compliance, and engage with stakeholders to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. About You To succeed in this role, you’ll bring strong financial expertise and a collaborative approach to support effective program delivery. Your ability to manage funding processes, ensure compliance, and communicate clearly will be key to driving successful outcomes. You will have: • A solid understanding of funding lifecycles, including developing program guidelines, managing applications and assessments, allocating funds, monitoring progress, and acquitting funding. • Experience in financial reporting, accruals, and budget forecasting. • The ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally. • Strong communication skills to prepare clear and informative reports, correspondence, and briefs. • A detail-oriented approach and the ability to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. • A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement in program delivery and financial processes. Essential Requirements: Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience in finance, funding program administration, contract management and successful achievement of program compliance outcomes and delivery of quality outputs.   For more information read the full Role Description: Finance Advisor.
