Finance Analyst/Assistant
Kilkenny
Our Client, a leading Manufacturing company, are currently seeking to recruit an Financial Analyst/ Assistant to support the daily operations of the finance team. This is working within an ISO and HACCP accredited company that are constantly looking to improve their product portfolio with new and innovative ideas.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities to ensure the effective management of their financial resources.
This is a full-time permanent position offering an early finish on a Friday. The successful candidate will report into the Finance manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in similar position
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, financial analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with ability to adapt to change
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Cost Accounting: Track and analyse manufacturing costs, including labour, materials, and overhead. Prepare cost variance analysis and assist with cost optimisation efforts.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the development of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals and accurate tracking of performance against financial targets.
  • Inventory and Fixed Assets: Monitor inventory transactions, including purchases, movements, and adjustments. Assist in managing fixed asset records and related depreciation calculations.
  • Cost Allocation: Allocate manufacturing costs to products and services accurately. Work closely with production and operations teams to understand and reflect cost structures.
  • Variance Analysis: Investigate and explain significant variances in financial data, particularly in manufacturing costs, production, and operational performance.
  • Grant Management: Oversee the financial aspects of grant applications, ensuring compliance with grantor requirements. Prepare reports on grant expenditures and outcomes
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with department heads to provide financial insights that drive operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Other daily and adhoc finance related duties as delegated by the Finance team
