Description:
The Construction and Equipment Division, a part of the J.D. Irving, Limited’s group of companies, is a key player in the North American construction industry. With five operating units within the division, the group provides heavy equipment and crane services, civil construction, modular home and commercial buildings, wallboard manufacturing, and steel and fabrication services to its customers.
We are currently seeking a talented professional to join our Construction & Equipment Finance team and showcase these talents in the role of Finance Analyst .
The primary function for this role is to oversee and supervise the project accounting and billing functions for the businesses. This will be achieved primarily through:
- Leading and supporting the billing team and project accountant
- Monitoring, assessing, analyzing, and reviewing project costs and expenditures
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing a solution
- Preparing weekly and period project reports
- Communicating period results and discussing variances
- Responsible for gathering appropriate documentation for internal and external auditors
- Providing support for additional finance functions such as financial analysis, corporate reporting, etc.
- Other ad-hoc requests/projects as required
- Post-secondary education completion, with 3 or more years of relevant experience
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated competency in assessing, working through, and resolving issues related to project accounting and other financial ad-hoc requests
- Demonstrated commitment to your ongoing professional development
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience would be considered an asset
