Description

Full job description

Ambition is delighted to be partnering with a top 20 law firm in its search for a Finance Analyst to join its London-based finance team. The role works closely with the global finance team, and the firm is open to candidates looking to move into a more revenue and billing-focused position, as well as those looking for a transition into a more analytical role.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Acting as a key point of contact for finance system and process queries from users across global offices, delivering clear guidance on policies, processes, and the effective use of SAP R/3.
  • Managing day-to-day support requests through ServiceNow, investigating and resolving system issues promptly, and coordinating with end users and cross-functional teams including HR and Technology.
  • Overseeing matter management processes within and outside SAP R/3, including matter opening, time recording, time transfers, billing, and debt collection activities.
  • Reviewing and processing system access and authorisation requests, ensuring compliance with finance policies and appropriate segregation of duties.
  • Conducting periodic authorisation reviews alongside Global Finance Managers and external auditors to support governance and internal controls.
  • Preparing change request documentation, working alongside Technology teams to implement, test, and deploy system enhancements, and supporting smooth adoption across offices.
  • Developing and maintaining process documentation, contributing to the Finance Manual, and supporting the design and delivery of user training and communications.
  • Supporting senior colleagues on strategic initiatives, including user acceptance testing, solution rollouts, and business-as-usual improvement projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a professional services environment, with a strong appreciation of the operational demands, commercial pressures, and risk considerations faced by finance functions in a global organisation.
  • Proficient in the use of SAP R/3 and Microsoft Excel, with the capability to work confidently across finance systems while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to balance multiple priorities, meet challenging deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality results.
  • Experience working within finance operations, finance systems, or finance support teams, with exposure to areas such as matter management, time recording, legal and e-billing, WIP control, and cash collection processes.
