Reporting to the Director of Finance & Legal, this is a role with an opportunity to participate and shape corporate decisions. The Finance Analyst is responsible for a number of financial, accounting, and analytical duties. The Finance Analyst plays a critical role as a business partner for each of the organization’s business units.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years in a Finance Analyst role or related role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution organization is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline.
  • Experience using an enterprise resource planning software. NetSuite skills is preferred.
  • Proficiency with advanced skills in Microsoft office suite tools with heavy emphasize on Microsoft Excel.
    What will make you successful?
    You will need to be a strong problem solver. Your ability to understand the upstream/downstream impacts of internal decisions on finance and cross-departmentally will be paramount. You must be able to conduct a deep financial analysis of information and produce actionable suggestions that will be used to develop business strategies. While completing assigned projects and tasks are expected, self-initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to provide improvement suggestions based on sound research will be an immense asset.
    What is expected of you?
    Detail oriented with strong capabilities in analytical, planning, and organizing in the finance function. Ability to develop and maintain courteous and collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to communicate ideas and analysis clearly, and effectively to executive management as well as to large working groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting and analysis of company performance, including preparing Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) reports and reviewing revenue and cost center performance to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations that improve business processes, profitability, and sustainable growth.
  • Conduct internal financial and KPI analysis on costing, financial statements, pricing, and ROI to provide data-driven insights for decision-making.
  • Build financial models to forecast the impact of financial transactions and corporate development activities.
  • Utilize financial software and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to streamline reporting and enhance data interpretation.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by maintaining financial systems and supporting automation initiatives to streamline financial processes.
  • Assist in financial risk assessment and mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets and operations.
  • Support period close tasks, including transactional processing, analysis, reporting, and corporate budget preparation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives to enhance financial operations and overall efficiency.
  • Perform all reasonable work activities as assigned by manager.
  • Ensure that financial and accounting policies and programs are followed in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
