Position Overview: Our company seeks an experienced accounting professional with prior experience in public accounting or the insurance brokerage industry, to join us a Finance & Accounting Manager on our Corporate Accounting team. This is a newly created position and will be responsible for managing and assisting senior leadership with various accounting and financial reporting projects.
Work location: The position is a full time, fully remote position, with a preference for qualified candidates in the U.S. Eastern or Central time zone.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Manage or assist with special accounting and finance projects throughout the PGIS organization
- Develop improvements to the current chart of account structure
- Prepare and review audited financial statements and accompanying footnotes
- Perform variance analysis on PGIS partner agency financial results
- Develop and implement various balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with the company’s year-end external audit and responding to auditor inquiries
- Create and review budgets
- Prepare and update technical memos as needed
- Research and resolve any identified technical accounting matters
- Assist with year-end and month-end closing procedures
- Other accounting or finance related duties as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting or Finance
- 6-8 years of relevant work experience in public accounting or insurance brokerage industry
- Knowledge of insurance brokerage industry
- Certified Public Accountant
- Experience in establishing previously undeveloped accounting related processes
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite tools, especially Excel
- Demonstrated success in developing and sustaining effective working relationships
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete within budgeted timeframe
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Collaborative and the ability to work independently
- Independent and critical thinker, adaptable and exudes a positive attitude at all times
- Ability to travel to partner agency offices or the corporate office when required
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future

Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000 depending on experience
- A wide salary range is posted for this position, and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
